PROJECT SERVE "FACT SHEET"
AN EDUCATIONAL COLORADO ADVENTURE EXPERIENCE
Summer School 2006 - June 8-24

THE GROUP: 2006-2007 Wheaton Academy sophomore and junior students who desire to grow spiritually and be involved in living as servants of Christ in the Wheaton Academy community during the next school year. (Current Sophomores and Freshman)

GENERAL PURPOSE: To provide outdoor adventure experiences where students are encouraged to build relationships, grow spiritually, further understand personal gifts and talents, and develop serving skills and philosophies through a class focusing on serving Christ. This is a CLASS on serving! "Following Christ's example through selfless acts of love."

ACTIVITIES:

LOCATIONS: Wheaton Academy; Rock Climbing in Boulder Canyon, Boulder Colorado; Day Hiking in the Collegiate Peaks area of the beautiful Rocky Mountains, near Buena Vista, CO which is two hours southwest of Denver.

COST/MATERIALS NEEDED: The trip should cost approximately $1100. Please see the Project Serve brochure handout for other details. There will be certain gear requirements; however, Wheaton Academy Adventure Club does have a (limited) gear closet for free rentals. Please talk to Mr. Dominguez for more information and a gear list. Another $100 should be budgeted for spending money and personal gear.

STAFF MEMBERS: Mr. Dominguez and his Co leaders, Jen Dominguez and Aimee Daniels, will oversee the trip and serve as group leaders. They will also provide safety training, climbing expertise, hiking expertise, and first aid needs during the days spent hiking and climbing. Justine Dominguez, a college student and WA alumna, will provide, among other responsibilities, inspiration and leadership as a Trip Assistant.

TRANSPORTATION: Two 15-passenger WA vans will transport leaders, students, the Dominguez's two yellow labs, and the group's gear to and from Colorado.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: There will be a physical training program during the spring semester of 2006 and a 3-4 mile run students must be able to complete before being able to go! Rock climbing and mountain hiking can be physically demanding.

A NOTE FROM MR. DOMINGUEZ: This trip is a unique and valuable opportunity for Wheaton Academy students, and I, along with Mr. Huber, believe that this experience will challenge and change your life! We are passionate about developing Godly students to serve and lead the next generation for Jesus Christ.
