Literary Journal

The Literary Journal is a group of students who volunteer extra-curricular time to edit and publish a collection of students' artwork and writing once a year for the school. The journal (titled If Clouds are Full of Water) is administrated by the English department but run by the students. The entire school is offered the opportunity to submit works of poetry, prose, artwork (painting, drawing, etc.) and photography. These are then laid out in InDesign into The Literary Journal which is subsequently printed by a professional company and distributed to the school. The Literary Journal has been recognized by The National Council of Teachers of English as Excellent since 2002 and was recently ranked as Superior.

In addition to publishing The Journal the editors also host The Literary Journal Coffee House which takes place once a semester. Students are offered the opportunity to sign up for a time slot during which they can share their writing or music at the Coffee House. Students' art work is also displayed for viewing at the Coffee House and donations are taken to raise funds for a convalescent home during the fall and for the school Zambia Project during the spring. Literary Journal is a great opportunity for students to share their ideas, creativity, and love of artwork and literature.

You can view selected pieces of work by viewing the Student Work Subsite, available here.
